I have heard a few guys talk about meguires Nxt wax i am just wondering if it is really that good becasue its double the price of most of the other waxes, i dont mind paying if its that good. Another question is that i hear some people are already useing a claybar on there paint, is this nessesary? i store my car in the winter so i dont know if my paint would have that many contaminants in it already. TIA

Kicks butt, I am using it right now.......the new 2.0 stuff is better than the old formual too! Easy on and easy off with a great protection and shine! The clay abr is awesome too, just for sheets and giggles do it on a fender then wax and then do it on a small area then wax, youll definately feel the difference!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! Brent
I'll say from experience though, Meguriars products kick mucho azz. I use the GOLD CLASS paste wax and if you look in my gallery, you can see some before and after pictures.
Watch the 3 car care videos and afterwards check out the their forums for specific information on a product. Their stuff and support truly is amazing. Don't be surprised if the guy Mike posting all the great information on the forums all the time also answers your questions if you call their hotline... and yes, I've called it before for advice.
If your car is out in the elements during the summer and while even your car is stored it gets contaminents on the paint. The clay bar will take all of that off. After you wash your car you can run the palm of your hand on the paint and if it sounds like sand pater you need to use the clay bar. It will amaze you after you are done. After that use a good polish and then follow it up with a good paste wax and then stand back and admire it. If you have never used the clay bar on your car you will more than likely need it. Try it you will love it.

By polish do u mean a liquid wax like the meguires NXT? and then a hard paste wax?

No I use Adams Products and they have a Polish which is not a wax. When I applied it it really brought my red out. It was a night and day difference. Then after the polish I wax it and that helps protect the paint and lock everything else in. Not to sure about the Mcquires products. I am sure they have a polish which is different from the wax.

I discovered Meguiar's NXT Tech wax last year and it is worth the extra $$. It goes on easy and better yet comes off easy. Like all waxes though you don't want to put to much on at at a time. Two easy coats are better then one thick difficult one. NXT leaves a great shine and beads water like mad if you get caught in the rain.

I use Maguire's Nxt wax and really like it. It deepens the shine and the color of the car beautifully. And while it may be a bit more expensive, it goes a long way.
As for clay bar, it will pick the little contaminants out of your clear coat. As Jim293 said, you may feel it before you see it. It has nothing to do with the age of the car. Claybar is sometimes used at the dealership just to remove the contaminants the car picked up at the factory and during shipping. You don't need to use it all the time. Every few washes should be sufficient, unless you live outside a coal fired power plant, for instance.
