Default Best Clay bar for the money?

What in your own opinion is the best or most clay bar deal for the money. Medium or light grade.
If possible, Where did you get it from?

I use Adams Products on my car. Everything from the clay bar to the Polis and wax. Everyone you ask will give you a different answer. Any of the stuff off your auto parts store shelf will work just fine. Just make sure to follow it up with a good polishing and waxing.

Get Meguiar's or Mothers (my favorite) at Wal-Mart -- best deal out there on over-the-counter as both include a trusted lubricant (soapy water degrades clay) and a good cleaner wax.

Ice is not a true clay -- it's mainly a gimmick because detailing clay is patented and they don't want to pay royalties to the patent holder. If your paint seriously needs claying, get a true clay. I've compared Ice to clay side-by-side and clay wins hands-down.

A lot of people like "boutique" brands, but for the most part they're re-packaged commercial products, though at least they give service.

Clay is pretty much clay in the U.S. as far as legally-sold product goes, it just varies by grade of aggressiveness and price.

Which leads me back to Wal-Mart.

I'm not sure I'd say "copied," but regardles... the best bargains on clay kits are at Wal-Mart.

When I went looking... I choose a commercially popular brand and read the instructions carefully... I bought Maguires. But I do think mothers comes with 2 clay bars and not 1 like the one I bought - hence, better deal.

Good luck - I'll tell you, once you do it - you'll wonder why you waited so long.

Default Get Meguiar's or Mothers

There was great article in the 5.0 explaining all the steps on washing your car tips. The best tip is to never drop the clay bar...if you do throw it AWAY!

I have three Mustang's each have different driving conditions which requires different methods of cleaning (daily, show car, and weekend). Find the one that works the best and stick to it. With all the products on the market I found that Mequiars and Mothers along with Coral products works fast and easy....KEY! Plus, clean rags, soft water and air comp. blowing all the areas the water settles into helps protect your baby. Auto parts stores carry (Orange Magic Cleaner) perfect for engine cleaning and removes bugs, tar and tree crap quick and easy...avoid the petro based products BAD...BAD.

Anyway I can go on for days a good detail takes hours and sometimes days. I found that making a list and following each step saves time and energy. Always start in and work your way out, always have music playing and lots of good light!

Peace
