2003 Mustang Factory Window Problem ... Need Help! So here's the story:
I take my 2003 Mustang Convertible to have a oil change, tire rotation and balancing. I find that the tires weren't rotated and the shop says bring it in we'll fix the issue. I figure since I was bringing it back in I would have it detailed as well.
While driving home from the rotation and detail, I notice what appears at first as oil/grease streaks on the windshield and the other windows. The rear window is very blurry and it looks like looking out of coke bottles.
I e-mail the shop and take it in, they have it for a day, wash the windows and what not, and can't figure it out. They call a glass expert who told them it was imperfection in all of the windows !!!
Now I am no expert mechanic, detailer or glass person, but I am certainly not blind. I dispute the claim and take it to two different detailers who both said it looks like a armor all type agent was used on the windows, with it being 114 degrees it likely seeped into the glass and screwed up the factory tinting thus the awful looking windows.
I had my front windshield repaired and the expert glass person stated a chemical was used on the windows and again likely messed up the factory tint. The only way to fix it was to replace all of the glass or get an after market tint job.
When looking out the rear window it's like looking out of the bottom of coke bottles. It's just awful.
The shop know wants their chemical agents and more glass people to look at it. Which is fine by me because I certainly didn't cause this damage and it wasn't there before they detailed the car.
