Folks... i am inches away from getting myself a '97 GT convertible and the guy in question has changed the roof .. 2 yrs old maybe .. it's very clean and in excellent condition. I live in Montreal where the winters are brutal so there will be no winter driving this car .. when stored in winter .. is it best to keep roof off / on ? what products exist out there to keep it nice and avoid the aging ?? let me know

Hello,I not a professional on this but I would advise using a vinyl cleaner on the top before putting it away, and use a car cover without any holes in case it gets wet. Also you can use a dry pac inside your car so no moisture causes anything to mold. I usually find them at Mustangs Unlimited store and they usually go for $60 for 5 of them(A little expensive huh?)

When you ask about keeping the roof off or on are you asking whether to keep the top up or down? Definitely up for storage, I've heard that you can leave the top folded down for a couple of days, but not for extended periods. I live in Colorado and my 97 convertible stays in the garage for most of the winter, although we get nice days throughout the winter so I take her out for a drive when I can. I've never used a car cover in the garage, but I always dust the top off (with a California Duster) before I put the top down.

I use 303 products for cleaning and protecting the vinyl top, but I suspect that any convertible top cleaner and protectant will do a good job. My top is 11 years old and still in really good condition.
