I'm contemplating getting the Cobra R front bumper/chin spoiler for my 2000 3.8. Does anybody out there have an aftermarket one? I'm curious as to how resilient it is, because no matter how careful I am, I still brush against the occasional curb when parking with the stock front bumper. I don't want to spend a lot of money on something that will get scratched up or broken within a week.

Is getting a Cobra R front bumper a bad idea for a daily driver?

It's a terrible idea for a daily driver Nah but you will have problems with curbs and such and you say you have trouble with curbs with your stock bumper then you can forget about getting the Cobra R one. Try a 99-01 or a 03-04 Cobra front.

not only will it probably not last too long if you hit the curb alot. but to me it seems to be very low to the ground so you would might have big problems with speed bumps or rough roads

I also agree with the others. Like the look but more than likely you would hit something or while you are parking somewhere you would hit those concrete curbs. Now if you do not drive it everyday that is another story.

i had one on my 95 from abc exclusive it was urathane so it could bend and not break but it lasted about a year then i hit a bunch of rocks that were washed out in the road bent it actually under the car an snaped it in half. but if you do get one get it from abc or cervinis but id go with the 03 cobra front

thanks man im puttin a tiger racing widebody fender kit on it and molding the dive planes (makes the bumper look flush with the fenders) into the cobra r front ill post pics when i get it done
