How to remove Tree Sap

Howdy and Hello from the great state of Texas. I am new to this site and think that you all have some realy good answers. Along with being new to the site I am also new to the mustang. I just purchased a 2004 Red Convertable and love it to no end. My delima is that I parked under a pine tree and now have tree sap on the paint and trim. I have tried the car wash and can't seem to get the film that is left off. I don't want to leave it on there much longer as I think that it will harm the paint.

Any help that you can give me would be greatly appreciated.

go to a local paint store and tell them what you are doing and they will give you something just for that..I have heard that wd40 will take it off but dont use it in direct sunlight or on hot surface.

try goo gone or mineral spirts just wipe on and wipe off will need to rewax if there is a ball of sap soak a rag with mineral spirts and let sit on sap for 5 min scrap off with plastic card then wipe area and rewax

I have used that stuff goo gone. Works great.
