Default Cleaning and care of chrome rims, your suggestions please

I just had a set of chrome deep dish bullitts arrive today and I would like your thoughts on how to clean and care for them.

For quick cleaning I am looking for something to spray on and wipe off with a microfiber towel. Currently I use Meguiars Quik Wheel Detailer on my polished aluminum rims for a quick cleaning. I believe this stuff is safe for all rims including chrome but I will call Meguiars and confirm that.

So give me your input on:

1) The quick cleaning as I just mentioned above, what do you use ?

2) What would use for a more detailed cleaning and shining ? Someone who has these rims suggested regular car wax like Meguiars NXT tech wax....putting that on and then letting it dry and buffing it off. What do you all think of that ?

3) Would spray wax work in lieu of number 2 above ?

4) I know there is chrome polish out there....how often do you find yourself using that ?

Any other suggestions you can give me I would appreciate !

When I clean my rims I use my detail spray and it does a fantastic job.

I agree with Jim, Gary! For a quick clean (assuming they are clean - not to leave scratches) I use my instant detailer being careful not to apply to the brakes lol

I also use mothers chrome cleaner as recommended by eagleautosports in 5.0 section and when I do - they look stunning... I do this when I complete a full detail on the ride... 2-3 times a year.

I use meguiars hot wheels chrome cleaner it may be called hot rims, either way it says hot and its in a red spray bottle

It works great, its not so much a wipe and go though, you spray on, let it sit for 15-30 seconds, spray it off slightly, wipe around the rims and then rinse the rest off, when it gets on my rotors it makes it look rusted but after driving its gone

For a quick detail on chrome you can also use glass cleaner without ammonia. Try it, its a lot cheaper than detailer.

I use the hot rims on mine and it makes the wheels nice and bright but it took the decal rite off my center caps. Now the caps are chrome but I still use the stuff cause it works so good. Then I use the chrome polish.
