You will need to have them cracks fixed before painting that wing. If you don't the cracks will only get bigger. If you have never worked with Fiberglass then I would suggest you take the wing to a good shop and have them fix it up for you. Find out which shops all the hot rodders in your city take their cars to, and run that wing over there. They will let you know what it will take to repair and paint it.

fiberglass is fairly easy to work with. buy some at your local auto parts store (make sure it comes with the hardener) ..its pretty cheap ..just read the instructions on the tube/can. and as far as sanding goes...after you repair the 'glass ...and as long as the white paint is still pretty good...you will need to wetsand the wing. u need to keep the sand paper WET at all times... start with some 800 grit then go to 1200...and then eventually 1600 ...that thing will be smooth as glass...good luck and let us know what you're gonna do..

I would start off with repairing the crack, then move on to sanding. If you do the sanding first you will just have to go back and blend in the repaired part in.

So if I had a hood that was splintered on the drivers side and was red that I was going to buy for my mineral grey mustang, What would be the general procedure to fix/prep the hood for somone to prime and paint it. About how much think you one would change someone like me?
