Default Clay Bar question

I'm loving the Mothers clay bar system. I slide the bar over the detail spray on the car and my question is why when I slide it do i get a resistance on the surface and it leaves a smudged streak? Do i need to knead the putty to a fresh surface?

need to knead? sheech

No you should not have to just may sure to use plenty of the lubricant. Do not go in a swirl motion. Go back and fourth that may you will not get those swirl marks on the paint. If you are getting smudge streaks sounds like you are not using enough lubricant. Do be bashful with that stuff.

I love your avatar!

Jim hooked you up with the right info... spray the instant detailer on liberally... and you will get a smidge of resistance - but not as much as you were getting when you weren't using enough slick stuff!!

And when the putty starts getting dirt colored... knead it to a cleaner area!!

Post pics when you're done with the cleaner wax!!
