long story short... after the damage was done their is a 2ft long 6inches wide "FU" with random lines and scratches in my girlfriends door. its deep enough where you can see the medal base. a body shop quoted her $350... is there something i can do to fix it myself?

Not anything that's going to look presentable since it's through both the clear and base coats.

ive got the same problem, but it was from a shopping cart i beleive, maybe just a hater, but it starts on my right rear 1/4 and stops half way up the door, only about 4in of it is through the paint, the rest looks like just clear coat.

yeah i had that happen to me. dropped my car off at a carwash and sometime in between the carwash and wax my car got keyed on the passenger side. apparently i think the idiots at the carwash parked my car too close to another car in the parking lot and pissed off the guy parked next to mine. i think they tried to spell "dick" but it said "diick" or "duck" not sure. on a couple of the letters, it went down to the metal so i had to have it repainted. still fighting with the carwash on this one. they claim that it was already there and didnt happen when they had it...idiots.

i have mercury insurance and i only paid a 100 dollar deductible without any increase in my premium. my dealer took 3 days to fix my car good as new and they even gave me a rental....an 08 silverado 4x4...not too bad of a rental!

have her check her insurance. mine helped me out a lot

oh yeah i forgot to mention..... under a comprehensive claim, it does not affect the premium!
