Default 2006 Mustang engine cleaning Help!

I know that there are a few posts on this issue already. I've read it, but I don't which part is which because I don't know what about engine.

I know that you suppose to cover air intake, distributor / distributor cap and ignition coil, and other... I don't know their location.

I attach the engine picture. could some one point out, write on the picture (use paint software) the locations need to be cover before cleaning?

what kind of cleaning are you doing? no need to flip. if your gonna power wash or sometihng of that sort i suggest you do it all by hand instead. a towel and some armorall...your intake is stock and inside a weatherproof box. dont worry bout that. everything else wont be hurt at all with a little hand sprayer.

I have read a couple of posts. so I'm thinking of cover the air intake, distributor / distributor cap and ignition coil (don't know which part they are yet). spray some water on the engine, the spray some simple green on, do a little cleaning, and clean up with the water. that's it!

This is my first time cleaning my engine, so i'm trying to be very careful about it because i don't want to mess up my engine.

basically run some water on the engine itself and where it looks like there is dust and oil. Just avoid things that look like that have electrical connections/wires. A little mist wont hurt em. maybe just put a large ziplock type bag over the alternator (the item on the top passenger side front of the engine where the belt loops around) and also avoid the spark plug wires and their connections on both sides. Everything should be pretty weatherproof/sealed, just don't pour water on electrical type things.
Also make sure the engine has cooled off for a while before cleaning it.

I realize that this is an older post, and you may have figured it out by now, but no one really offered graphical representation. I'm sure there are still newbs that might need it, so...

Here's the marked location of the alternator and the ignition. These are the two areas you should be most careful with when cleaning your engine. That being said, I only cover the alternators in my engines, as I'm not pressure washing them. The ignition/wires are sealed with grease to keep moisture out, and as long as you're not blasting water straight at them for extended periods of time, you shouldn't have a problem.
