Im just wondering if it is damaging to the finish for our cars to be washed a lot. Being winter in MN i got an unlimited washes card to keep that salt and grime off. Anything i need to do to keep the finish... healthy?
if their is im sure im in trouble. but i dont think so, i put like 6 coats of wax on my car to stop winter and its fury. im also gona have under carrage sprayed by next winter.

I doubt it. I dont think you can harm the paint....BTW how did you get an unlimited car wash card? Everytime I go to the car wash I spend atleast $25 just on the wash, nm microfiber towels, wax, absorbant rag, tire and wheel cleaner, interior clean and so on im jealous

As long as you're not using something that actually rubs the surface hard, I'd say you're OK. I'm thinking of things like car washes that use brushes.
If you're using a touchless car wash, I'd say no problem. Just be sure to add a good coat of wax periodically to keep the paint from oxidizing. By periodically, I mean hand applied paste or liquid wax every 4 months or so at a minimum. Depending on the solutions used at a car wash, the protective wax can be washed away, leaving the paint vulnerable.

OK, so I've added a few things to it. Check my Profile - too many to list here.
You ever heard the old saying "your gonna wash the paint off that car." Well do you know how many times you would have to wash your car to strip the paint? Like everyone said just keep it waxed properly and wash it once a week or so and you will be alright. Keeping it waxed helps it stay clean as wel so you actually wont have to wash it as much.

Unless you are washing your car multiple times a day every day I doubt if you are washing your car too much.

You shouldn't really be driving your car through automatic washes. Its not good for your finish at all. Think about how many times you see people drive through those things in the winter with their cars COVERED in salt. The same brushes that wash off the salt wash your car. Also compare a nice wash with a hose done by hand with a soft sponge, then think about the abbrasive dirty cleaning methods the drive through washes have. Also the soap they use in those washes are junk. Meguires makes a great soap.
It gets cold here in the winter, so I can understand why you would like to go through the car wash. Try using the coin op pressure hoses they offer with you own car wash liquid. You might be cold, but if your planning on keeping the car a while, think of the long term.
