I heard that it was good to was your car with DAWN dishsoap before you wax your car.. I don't know if its good how much should you use?? Also, What is the best wax to wax your car with.
How do you clean your engine? to make it nice and shiny and clean.
Lastly, easy way to get show room shine from the engine to the exterior.?
Any cleaning tips are welcome and what you do on your mustang.
*Not meaning to yell* but DO NOT use dish soap to clean your car. It strips everything off of it, all wax and polish. You want to use an automotive washing soap, then it won't cause damage to the finish. Dish soap also leaves a residue that will haze and mar the finish as well.

Oops . I usually use DAWN dish soap just because it's conveniently located in the kitchen. Luckily I received a nice TURTLE WAX ICE car-care kit for Christmas. It has some car-soap, so I will switch to that. Now I feel bad for being mean to my car.
Dawn Dishwash soap is used to strip off wax never as a everyday soap. There are many good wax manfacturers out there everyone has there favorite They are all good and it depends on what look you are after They all have a multi step procedure and one of them is mostly best to start with Prep is the key to a good shine
Steps to car care
wash car with dawn ( removers all wet )
claybar ( cleans rail dust and other debre)
Cleaner ( removers any thing left )
polish ( removers any scratches and maring)
top coat ( your wax of choice )
detail spray ( to give it extar pop )
wash with auto soap ( two bucket method)
quick spray of detail
rewax when needed
Hope this helps
may what to check out some of the detail fourms for some more info
my wax of choice ZIANO

Power in the hands of a few
I would never use a automated car wash especially the ones with brushes that's a good way to ruin your finish even the brushless ones i would never use
reasons:
The guy starts with a brush to clean your car which was used on every car that day and not cleaned
The soap they use may be too harsh for your finish
The guys drying your car has used those rags on every car that day
All this will add scratches to your car best i would do is wait for a warm day and do it by hand other wise go to a open car wash spray style use only the water and bring your own soap and bucket

You got that right. When I was a 15yr.old kid I spent all Sat.washing and waxing my Dad's Chevy Caprice.I mean one of those great, big, real long ones, using The old Turtle wax that was so hard to remove. It rained that night so I decided to wash it before I drove it that Sun.afternoon.I didn't know any better never hearing of auto soap where I lived. So I used Mom's trusty DAWN,the Death of Wax!Long story short all work was wasted. So if You won't yell, please allow me.DON'T DO IT! Have a good one.
