Default chrome and pledge

I was talking to a harley enthusiast and he gave me a tip on keeping your chrome nice. He said he tried it and it works, but I'm not sure if I really believe him.

He said that you can use pledge(cleaner for cofee tables n such) on your chrome and it works great supposedly. He said he got the tip from some guy at a car show. Does anyone use this on their car???? Does it work as well as he claims???

Sounds like it should work.

Never heard that one. I doubt it would hurt anything. Try it I bet I would work pretty well.

it does kinda make sense, but I'd rather hear it from someone else that it actually works. Supposedly the stuff repels dust right??? That's definitely a bonus. Plus it is a wax-like stuff...so it should protect from other crap. Should work in theory.

Ya know, I'd be willing to try that out... I also heard from someone that baby oil works good on stripes... gives them a nice deep gloss... now, I would hate to see the car after it rains!!

That's a great tip about the Pledge! Interesting to say the least!! Let me know how it works for you!!

Found this in a harley davidson forum:

This is because tons of other companies are using the same ingredients that are in pledge for their paint protection products and they don't want people using furniture polish when they can spend more $$ on Honda polish, etc. After I saw a guy detailing cars at the Chicago Auto Show last year using pledge andI was sold. He said he was not supposed to allow people to know what he was using because it could get him into trouble but said they always use it on all clearcoat finishes and have been for years. He said it is safe and provides excellent results when applied with microfiber clothes. After he sprayed some on a $350.000 Ferrarri I started using it on my bike. It also works great on the chrome. Try it, you can always switch back to the expensive name brand products that are basically the same thing with a different label.

Although I dont think I'd try it on my paint.

Wow, that's very, very interesting - so are you gonna try it first on the paint? .... I can't wait to try it on my chrome... I wonder what other very useful tips those Harley guys have been hiding on us!!
