I just did the Meguire's 3 step clean program last week.
Step one: Paint Cleaner
Step two: High Gloss Polish
Step three: Carnauba wax
My problem is that it rained for 10 minutes this past Sunday (damn meteorologists)! Now my car has dirt spots and water spots. If wax lasts 6 months, as the box claims, how do I get my car to look shiny and smooth again? Should I wash, dry and then use Meguire's Detail spray? Or should I just directly use the detail spray? What about the spray wax? Please let me know what ya'll would use to get this beast looking fierce again! Thanks alot.
I would wash it again, get that dirt off then the detail spray should work well. Might need a few spots where a little wax may be needed to buff those out. I hate those spots!

If you have water spots and dirt from the rain I would re wash the car again. Do not use a detail spray you may be scratching your paint if you go that route. Have you ever used the clay bar on your car?

Wash it before you do anything. I have always used old fashioned carnauba wax, haven't ever tried spray on wax/detailer. Which do you guys use, and think is better?

To the OP, wash the dirt off first... then use an instant detailer...

Check out the pinned topic on instant detailers.... I currently use Obsessive Detail products... and am very, very happy with the results.
They are just that, instant detailer... you still wax, but this is an inbetween solution!

+1 Definately want to get all the dirt off of the car first. If you did not drive it anywhere in the rain then you should be ok to skip that step and go straight to the spray detailer. I use meguairs Ultimate Detailer, But black is a pain in the arse!
The detail spray is great to use as long as there is no heave dirt on the car. In your case since it rained and you have the dirt spots on it just wash it. And as long as you have just a light dust on her you can use the detail spray.
As far as the spray waxes go. I do not like them. Paste wax is the best way to wax the car. If you have never used a clay bar that is something that will enhance the paint prior to polishing and waxing. Lots of good threads on that to help you out.

What is wax? LOL! I feel like Al Bundy when it comes to keeping the outside of my car clean. If I got it washed I'd have to report it stolen because I would have forgotten what color it was.
