can anyone help? Hey there guys.
Ive got a 1989 Mustang GT that I would like to prep for a paintjob, I noticed that the ground effects have a few cracks in them.
Ive worked with fiberglass before, and thought I would attempt to fix them myself. Any suggestions/recommendations?
Also, some help on the "parking lot" dents would be some help too.
Thanks

well if you're looking for a cheap fix, use bondo, spread it evenly, let it dry, sand it down the fill in the holes and sand again. like i said, this is cheap but not always best, paint will show up different on bondo surfaces. fiberglass cloth and resin, then sand it will prob be your best bet.
Depending on how big the dents depends on the actions, small dents are usually the hammer and dolly approach.

When I was in detailing at Cadillac, I spent quite a bit of time with the body shop guyz too just to pick up some extra cash. But I did learn quite a bit. Ive done both Bondo and fiberglass. Bondo, like i said is cheap and will eventually crack and fall off, especially if you are in rust prone areas.

Thanks again Vortex. I will try redoing all my ground effects this summer. I was leaning toward fiberglass from the start.
Im also thinking of building my own air intake. Anything to save some cash and throw it toward suspension, rims, and paint.
