Default Stripping paint off of 2002 fiberglass(?) hood

OK, the paint on my hood is flaking off in chunks. Really sad since the rest of the car still looks beautiful. It is a bonding issue which seems well known yet Ford tells us to pound sand instead of being a real consumer friendly company and fixing their mistake. Anyhow, I cannot afford to get this repainted properly at this time and I just can't bear to look at it in this state. I was thinking of stripping the paint off myself and just painting it flat black since even that would look better than it does in this state. Any suggestions as to the proper way to strip off the paint without destroying the hood?

Da Sanding would prolly be best ....most chemical strippers will soak into the fiberglass causing worse problems than you have now ... start with a 180 to get the bulk off them go to a 320
