Default tried and true vs technology

im not loyal to anyone in particular, the first step to a new product is testing it on a family members car tho. how about this new synthedic wax? like turtle wax ICE. do you actully think it works better than wax, or even just as good? SO technology or tried and trusted?

I knew I already responded to this... LOL I deleted the other post about this under car wash...

I happen to stand by the tried and true carnauba - I have an instant detailer with carnauba, I was so happy - I bought a gallon of it. The reflection and deepness is amazing, I take a double look when walking past my car!

The synthetics are amazing too - it is really what works for you... Technology has brought us a long way, so I would never slam that unless I had a horrible experience. I remember watching a show on synthetic oil - it was amazing. for technology!!

Be careful, Ice comes in wax and polish - and everyone has their own steps to detailing their cars, but I wash, polish then wax and wax again my car... it's a multi step process... I'll be doing it for the year shortly.

TW Ice has many, many loyal followers - and I have to tell you, my brothers car always looks hot, hot, hot...

For a wax - you pay more for a good caranuba wax, but it's worth it... IMO!

Again, I hope this helps.... most likely it doesn't... because everyone has their own best products to use and usually, it goes along with the paint on the car - if it's dark or light with metallic or not... Get out there - experiment and report back!!

I use Maguire's NXT wax, which I think gives the car a deep shine. When I think of Carnuba wax, I think of the old paste waxes like Simonize, which were a bear. Today, however, even Carnuba wax is easier to apply, thanks to technology. As Judi said, it's whatever works for you.

OK, so I've added a few things to it. Check my Profile - too many to list here.

I use the tried and true carnauba wax, can't remember the exact brand off the top of my head (Harley wax maybe). Years ago my dad's car was hit and the guy at the body shop highly recommended this wax. I haven't ever tried any of the new synthetic waxes. There is just something about the smell of good ole carnauba wax that makes me remember waxing my parent's cars when I was a kid.

i just went to the store and got some black magic liquid wax ill try another brand. i figure black magic is kinda new so they have something to prove. the more i think about my car with the ICE i dont like it. i can understand how WAX works, but not this high tech clear wax thats never seems to haze. and the worst part is when i walk past my car and see a spot i missed cuz you cant see when it was applied. i do like how it looks when its just put on tho. looks like its wet. any little scrach gets filled in by the "oil"
