Does anyone use one of those electric power washers to wash their cars?
Hey guys, I saw some smaller electric power washers around 1600 and 1800 psi today. They have soap dispenser containers on them also to jet the soap through the power washer to spray onto the car I believe. Does anyone use these to wash their cars? Does the soap dispenser work well to get it onto the car evenly? I am a little worried that the electric ones may not stand up to the kind of regular washing use it might see. I have searched on here and the internet for awhile but haven't found any real answers so hopefully I can get them here! Thanks for the advice and help in advance. I have always washed my other cars at car washes but now that I have my stang I want to do it myself.

If I can't hand wash my car, it stays dirty. Power washers are hard on the paint finish and force water and soap into places it shouldn't go. And they don't do as good a job.
From getting the pan and utensils out, to drying and putting everything away, I have done a good job on mine in 45 minutes.

The only thing i don't like about a power washer is that the force of water may leave a mark on the car if a bit of drit were to get somehow rubed up on the car. I like to wash by hand so i can get a good look at the car. I have used a power washer to do the wheel wells and under side of the car so if you get one get the flexable end.

These electric ones put out less pressure than the gas ones right? I know it has some nozzles that come with it that cut down on the force and pressure by spreading the spray out. Thanks for all the input guys!

I've used an electric one and just twisted the nozzle to a flat wand spray, soft enough that at arms length I could put my hand in front of it. I like using it, really get's the soap off fast. I've never used the soap dispenser as I wet the car then hand wash with mit/soap and then spray off. Works great to really clean the tires after a good scrubbing with BleachWhite and getting the brake dust off after rim cleaning.

Ok thanks, Still on the fence on whether or not I will purchase one of the smaller electric ones. Jonk67 that is exactly what i was thinking of using it for. Thanks for all the opinions guys and I'll post back if I purchase one!

I have been using a gas power washer on mine ever since I bought the car. If you use the lower pressure attachment, you will be fine.
The electric ones don't put out enough pressure to harm the paint.

On the gas pressure washers you can
a) fan out the spray and
b) throttle it down so it's not going full blast to rip off your paint
and they're powerful enough to use on other household cleaning projects. Just my .02

I use one pretty regularly. Especially if the car is really dirty. If you try to hand wash with a lot of dirt, you'll abrade the paint surface and ruin the shine. The best option is to use the power sprayer to get the majority of the dirt off, then wash by hand.
The soap dispenser works OK. Nothing to get excited about, though.
i use one as well just have to flatten out the spray. my home water pressure is horrible outside. i do not use the soap in the pressure wash i just use it to wet the car and wash the soap off
