Default 30 days after a paint job for waxing?

I recently had some body work done on my car (sadly I made the mistake of taking my car to my son's school and one of the kids side wiped my passenger door, so I replaced it) and ended with a clear coat.

Is 30 days long enough to wait for a good wash and wax job?

I would go by what the body shop says.Alot of people say to wait before doing anything.I had a fender, front bumper, door, rear bumper painted, and my guy said go ahead and wash and wax.I did a few days after i got it and no problems.

We tell everyone 30 to 60 days. U should be able to wash it right away. but u just don't want to seal the paint.

I was always told to wait 60 days to wax, but washing was Ok immediately. The explanation being the paint takes up to 60 days to fully out-gas or cure, and waxing would seal the paint, slowing the curing process. I'm curious, however. With today's modern paints is that still necessary? How much time does the modern paint job take to completely cure?

OK, so I've added a few things to it. Check my Profile - too many to list here.

we had some guys come in from are paint company and they said the same thing 30 to 60. So how i look at is it probably don't matter once you are past 30 or so days.
i have never had any probs with the cars i have done knock on wood
