Also, if you're using lacquer, which I used to do my 67, you need to spray the can towards a cloth or just something wasteful for about 10-15 seconds(maybe even longer) after shaking the can well. Reason being that I guess there is like a clear-coat mixed in with the paint and when it sits, they seperate in the can, and that's what causes that dripping you were talking about. Also, you want to spray from about a foot away at least, and do it in THIN coats. Make sure one coat is dry before applying another. Also, constantly be moving the can in slow, even strokes. If the can isn't moving, don't be painting with it. If you stop moving the can, stop painting. And like said above, make sure the surface is clean. I've found just using a household cleaner like Windex(though it's for windows) works fine for cleaning off surfaces.
