I was just wondering if I wash my car a lot, would it be bad for the paint??? Because everytime I go outside and it rains I must wash it or there will be dirty water spots all over. Usually I wash her at least 3-4 times a week for no reason, I just get bored and go to self carwash even if it's clean. So am I hurting the paint or is it good for it???

should be fine, it makes sense to me to wash of residue left from rain that has sulfuric acid in it......seems like washing it more often would help reduce natural acid in dirt and rain that could harm your finish. keep in mind sulfuric acid is a STRONG acid, even in low concentrations

If washing your Mustang too much is bad...then I am in deep trouble! Washing alot is not bad, polishing alot can be. Polish, not wax, does actually have a small amount of grit to it. That is one reasons how cars have a lot of clear coat.
back when i lived in panama city Fl, i would wash and wax my 95 GT constantly, sometimes twice in one day. at that time, the car and paint was 5-6 years old and people thought that it had a new paint job.
so i'm guessing..no. make her shine

Some people shower daily and get by with washing their car only once or twice a year.
It is not okay, however, to wash your car frequently and only shower twice a year.

The trick is to use the proper car wash cleaner with it. If it's meant for clear coat paint, then it won't hurt. If it's Dawn dishwashing soap (like I've seen some do), then it'll strip every bit of wax and polish off and then the paint will be exposed to the elements.

+1 if its not for clear itll strip it and put micro pores in ur clear and let dirt cling to it more. but if its clear coat safe then u just have a car so clean germ freaks can eat off
What's bad is where the water sits and collects when you wash it. Try to open the doors, hood and trunk and dry. Also make sure the door drains are not clogged so the water can weep out the bottom.

So after how many coats of wax should I stop waxing it? I put 5 coats on last night and right now I think Im just waxing the wax which really dosent make much sense. Will adding more coats give it even more of a shine ir have I maxxed out??
That would all depend on what type of wax you use If it has a cleaner in it then all your doing is taking off the old wax and puttting on new. However some wax is designed to layer but there comes a point of demishing returns. Maybe think about using a detail spray to boast up your shine rather then rewax

I use Canuba turtle wax(Incredible stuff!!)...Before I did that I used abrassive polishing compound, worked wonders. It rid my car of all the ghostly white spots on the hood. When I applied the Canuba wax the shine was amazing.
