Default Scratched Chrome Rims

Hey guys, I was wondering if you could help me with something. I recently purchased 4 20" Foose Nitrous Chrome Rims for my 08 GT. They look great. I took the car to a local car wash (no brushs, done by hand) and they scratched up one of my rims. I know stupid move on my part

From what I can tell it looks like the track that the car goes on at the car wash is what did it. It has rubber rails and as the car rollled throught the car wash it scratched the whole outer rim/lip. There is no damage like curb rash but its all swirled and dulled from the rubbing.

Anyone have any ideas how I can fix this or if its even possible or do I have to by a new rim? I tried some Mother Chrome Polish and it did nothing.

One last thing is during the day unless you stick your face right against the wheel you dont see it. But at night you see it clearly when lights hit it.

You can try the polish but I doubt it. New rim will fix it.

Use Foose's powerball, he also has the polish to remove the swirls. Should help do the trick. Plus you will be going Foose all the way. Im sure he will appreciate it.

That sucks. I never take my vehicles to those types of car washes. Sounds pretty bad. Maybe you can call the manufacturer and they can help you out.

well a lesson learned. Never ever take your ride into any kind of car wash moving or otherwise. The only carwash other then the one by hand in the backyard with a garden hose and soft micro mitt I ever hose is the drive in bay that allows you to hose it yourself and even then i bring my own mitt, soap and bucket and hand wash it in the bay with my soap and use their hose to pre wet and rinse only. Do this when it's not busy there obviously. Never even hand dry my car I use a blow dryer to blow the excess water off the car then detail it with maguire detailer using an ultra soft microfiber towel harley-davidson sells for my bike. The blow dryer is for a bike also but works great on the car. Not scratch or a swirl in 3 yrs from washing it.
