Default using a machine buffer with wax?

What is the best way to use a machine 10" random orbit buffer with wax? To apply the wax with the buffer and let dry then buff out by hand? Or apply by hand then buff out with machine? Or both? Using 3M wax by the way. Also wetting buffer pad to apply wax with water or use a detailer spray like maguires?

Honestly, yes to all of that. I find the machines to be a major PIA. Elbow Grease still rules. Removing w/ the terry covers on the machine sucks, you will be going over it by hand after anyway. Just recently I have started using large microfiber towels and they make a world of difference in removing wax/polish.

I have always shyed away for those things. I had heard that if yo do not do it right you can burn the clear coat. I will stick with the old fashioned way.

The spinners are the ones that you can burn the paint, the orbitals are pretty easy going. The dirty extension cord rubbing over the paint, or the machine jumping out of you hand and bumping something or falling on the ground (face down of coarse)are the ussual problems encountered in my experience.

A few ladies on my female mustang board use the orbitals and their cars always look amazing - me? I am a chicken, but after doing the clay, cleaner wax, polish, wax routine today - the machine would probably make my life easier with the cars... I always say that...

But I'll stick with my sore arms and broken back...

If you are really interested in learning - Maguires site has how to videos... as well as auto geek...and Justin, from Obsessive Detail will thoroughly discuss this with you if you wanted to start using the random orbit on your ride....

Beautiful!!! What a stunning car!! Nice job!!

Next time you do the whole routine, use a good polish before the final wax, you'll notice even more of a difference!!
