Pop-a-dent or somthing like that in walmart sells for about 15 bucks and is a glue gun with some suction cups and a fancy thing. Will this thing actually get rid of minor dents and such?
Also
My girl is GOING to need a paintjob, clearcoat flaking a little in some places (Dollar bill sized or smaller) but I wanna get it done right, what am I looking at if I tell them to strip it, and paint it/clear coat it?
There is a classic/car restore place in town here I am pondering.

Good luck with that! It is a piece of crap, it will do more damage to your car and put more dents in it than it does helping it. Your best and absolute greatest bet is to get ahold of "Dent Wizard". Don't know if they have one in your area....but they will have something very similar if not. It is paintless dent removal. With dent wizard all their techs are trained and do EXCELLENT WORK! you won't be unsatisfied!

As for the paint it all depends on the shop. A good shop that is certified and actually has paint techs that really know what they are doing usually will charge around $2500-3000 for a decient job. We're talking removing windows, handles, bumbers, etc.... ask around for who does good work and shop around for prices. Look at some of the cars that they have already done....

800-1200 dollar paint job will be just that! i only paid 3200.00 for mine but had no problem saving up 3500.00 for BEAUTIFUL paint job. car did not look this good when it left the factory. you get what you pay for.

I know you get what you pay for but there are limits to that. And no one has attached examples either of a '500 dollar' or what not paint job.
Factory look would be fine for me.
And no one really gives estimates for a color switch to a black (from electric blue) to look factory. And 3500 is more than I paid for the car :P

I would go to a few different body shops to see how much it would cost for them to pull out the dents. Since my dad owns his own service station, he knows more then a few body shops that will pull a dent out without re-touching the paint. I just recently got a dent pulled from my 87 Notch behind the passenger rear wheel before the back bumper. The dent was so big that it cracked the plastic molding. It cost me $20 to be pulled. It now looks like it never happened.
I would get all the little dings pulled and pay to get the car fully detailed. I mean full compounding, glaze, swirl remover and wax all done with a buffer. Not with one of those orbitals either. Should cost you about $100. The rubbing compound will take out all the minor scratches and the paint will look new after its done.

Sadly some of the cracks go clean through the paint But I have no idea :<
