Default My TurtleWax Ice experience

Here's another first for me.
I had some free time over Memorial Day and gave her a complete clean and polish treatment. First I washed her using TurtleWax Ice car wash, then used the Ice clay bar, then Ice polish. I used a paint and chrome cleaner that I use for my bike on the wheels, but I used the Ice Tire Shine, which I didn't like because even a day after I applied it, it still splashed a little bit on my paint after driving.

Took me approx 1 hr 30 min to wash, clay bar, and polish. Another 30 minutes for wheels, windows, and windshield. And maybe another 30 minutes for cleanup. Not bad for a two and a half hour job, but I feel like it's not car show clean yet. You tell me. Can Zaino or any other product do a better job in about the same amount of time?

Attached are a few pictures. But I took a bunch of them including the mod parts and put them in YouTube for convenience. If you wish to watch the video make sure to turn on High Quality (HQ) for clearer pictures.

Looks great man! I think its car show ready.

I was at a show this weekend, i was right next a rare early 70's big block sting ray, i was cleaning and shining and the guys comes up to me and says, "your cleaning too much", i dint know there was such a thing .

To the owner, it feels like its never enough but to the spectator it looks great. Your car looks fantastic in pics, im sure it looks better in person.

First...your car looks great!!!

I use TW Ice products on my wife's car (Malibu) and Zaino on my Mustang. Can't beat the ease of use and speed of TW Ice. I also think it gives great results. I use the soap, detailer, and polish. I still prefer a regular clay bar. The Ice also beaded water a solid 6 months, lasting thru a harsh winter here.

I think the Zaino may yield a slightly better result. I use the Zaino soap, Z2 polish with ZFX, Z6 Gloss Enhancer, and Clear Seal. But I'm starting to question whether it's worth the extra effort and expense. It's not hard to use, just not as easy as TW Ice. And the results are very close.

I will probably use up my Zaino products and switch to TW Ice products. I can also buy TW off the shelf just about anywhere.

I guess you're right. I think I just know where the good and bad angles are. Where that small scratch is. Or where that stubborn waterspot that won't go away is. I have an LED flashlight that is blinding bright and I use that to micro-inspect the paint. Too much... I need to back off a bit and be a spectator to enjoy it a bit. Thanks for that advice!

I did think of using Zaino first, but application time drew me to giving the TW Ice products a shot first. With the clay bar, the paint is now absolutely smooth to the feel when you run the back of your fingers on it. Even the front and rear parts that pick up the most impurities.

Ya know what I did with my extra time... played tag with my 5-year old! Awww... Now that was fun!!!

THe shine is show ready that's for sure. I love Turtle Wax Ice Liquid Polish....the stuff is great.

Last Summer I used TW Ice Liquid Polish then a day later I used Meguiars NXT Tech Wax and it came out amazing...and that was without the car ever being clayed.

When I use tire shine stuff I wipe it on with an applicator and don't spray it on directly. Unfortunately it doesn't last as long by doing it that way but it never slings off either....so it's a trade off.

Car looks really great.

Back in the day, Turtle wax was the stuff to use. I no longer think that way. I only use Mequiars and Mothers products. Both of those quick detailers are awesome and the mothers smells like cinammon.

To me, that Ice quick detail spray takes way too long to get all of it off. Seems someone is always trying to give that stuff away at car shows, etc and I see why.

I think he was using Turtle Wax Ice Liquid Polish not the Detailing Spray.

Your car looks good but I'm not a fan of the Ice. I use Meguiars for everything.

ive used both a wax and TW ice. id have to say i like old fashion wax. i just like knowing that hard work pays off and you can build coats on wax that are a shiny shield agents particles. i do use the tw ice one ever thing possiable other than my paint. works great on black. and plastic!
