Default Hale damage prevention

The bad news is that it has hailed here three times in the past month. Missed the first two and the third didn't do any damage but I would like to get some kind of protection for my car against hale. Is there a car cover out there that will do it or is my only option a garage? I know the insurance company will cover any repairs if it does get banged up but I would really prefer not having to deal with that.

Car covers will reduce the chance of damage but only if the hail is "standard size". You could add some kind of synthetic cushion material to the underside of the cover, mostly to hood, roof and trunk areas.

PonyBoy1574: you might look at some 1/2" thick styrofoam panels to slip under the car cover those those times of the year when hail is most likely. I live in Kansas and we definitely get our share of golf ball+ size stuff. The panels would only be needed for hood, roof and trunk. My be a cheap fix if you can't garage the car.

For a cheap fix, throw an old blanket(or a couple of em) over the car and bungee them down. Don't worry dude, I hear what you're going through. But whatever you do, if it's hailing, leave your car be, don't risk it to go out and do anything. When my dad was a kid, his neighbor just bought a brand new Cadillac and it started to hail and the old guy tried to go out and put a cover on the car and the hail knocked his @ss out. LOL, his wife had to drag him in the house.
