Default OK to use Mothers California Gold carnuba wax after applying Meguiars NXT Generation?

I was just wondering. Last weekend, I had use of my mom's garage and in 95 degree temps, I applied two coats of Meguiars NXT Generation Wax, a synthetic wax, and the Mustang looks marvelous. But I was wondering, when I have access to that garage in two weeks, would it be OK, or not, to go over that wax job with a Mothers Carnuba wax? Is that beneficial or detrimental?

I would say it would be completely fine, it would be beneficial. It is just a an extra coat of protection, there should be no detrimental effects

I'll be honest, you should, in my opinion, do all your layers at one time so no contaminants get between the layers and you're not sealing any ick in there... but I don't see layering the two to b a problem... I probably would have ditched the NXT and just used the gold layered and a nice coat of sealant to protect all that hard work.

Just for clarification, since it may be unclear which Mothers product we're talking about...

Mothers California Gold Pure Carnauba Wax has no polishes -- it would be ideal for a "top coat" for such a product you already have on it. So this would be a benefit.

Mothers California Gold Carnauba Cleaner Wax has polishes which will effectively remove any wax you've already got on the surface with the NXT -- they are both cleaner waxes and one will effectively remove the other. This would be a no benefit situation.

One product you might try is Mothers FX Spray Wax -- you can spray it on the vehicle while you're drying -- it adds pure protection and gloss with the ease of a detailer.

I always use Mother's Pure Carnuba Paste the next day after NXT. As stated above make sure you are not dealing with a "cleaner" wax as it will remove any wax you previously applied.

If the car has sat and has any dust on it, you could hit it with Meg's Final step #34 before you put on the Carnuba.

NXT is a pretty great product, I only put on the layer of carnuba because I have alot of it and it seems to make my older paint look "deeper"
