Default need advice on painting tailight bezels

I know I have seen some mustangs, mostly Saleens where the tailight bezel is black. I personally like how this stands out, especially on a white car like mine. Has anyone painted this themselves or have any recomendations? I've seen new tailights for sale with black bezels but only for the 96-98 design and I want to keep the horizontal look. Any ideas as to how well spray paints would look if i primed it first? Or is it best to take it to a shop....

Regular spray paint wont stick into it, better to have a pro paint them using a base/clearcoat.

The 94-95 Saleen's used a plastic part that taped to the taillight to make the bezel black. A friend of mine just painted his just like you would any other exterior part on the car, primed and paint. His came out real nice.

I've never seen or heard of that plastic part, any ideas as to where I could get it?

I got mine from Saleen, but you could also check California Mustang. Good luck.

yeah I taped off too, I just picked up some black bumper paint from Pep Boys.... pretty sure it's used for touch up on scratches and what not.... but they came out really good.
