Question How to fix a smudge in the paint

hey all
today some a** hole hit my car and left a bumper smudge mark and it is driving me crazy becouse i cant get it to buff out i have used Griots, Simply Z Best, and Eagle One and i cant get that smudged look to go away any suggestions????

run a clay bar over the ENTIRE car


itl look super well, and if its not deep itl come off with some slight effort

i have yet to find some one else who when changing their oil ( every 2000 miles or when they get bored ) details the under side of their car.

X-C April 2010,Heads, Cam,Internals April 2011, or blown engine, witch ever comes first.

It made it look beter but i can still see it i put pressure on the clay as i rubbed it on and did it a couple of times but it is still there it isnt deep its a surface smudge. if i saw the a** hole that did that he would be dead lol. is there anything els i can try?

ill try it but i dont think it will work its a mark from the friction of the bumper there like tiny surface scratches idk why the clay didnt work maybe another brand would work beter.

Sounds like you have done everything you can. Now it may be time for a profesional. Find a good collision center in your area. They shouldn't charge you more than an hour labor. They will lightly wet sand it and then buff it. Really shouldn't charge you more than $45.

Clay bar will only help with paint transfer.

If you have scratches, and if you want to try to do it yourself, a little scratch remover or polishing compound should do the trick. Keep in mind that you likely can only minimize the scratches if they are through the clearcoat or even the basecoat, but they should be less visible after you wax.

Post a photo if you like for more specific advice.
