Default BEST WAY TO CLEAN/POLISH FORD FACTORY ALUMINUM RIMS

Want to know best way to clean factory 4 lug 10 hole rims/turbines? Can you sandblast these? Will it hurt the rim to sandblast? Want them to look great/polished?

Aany products for polishing, please be detailed as possible with names of products, part numbers, whatever!

If the sandblasting will hurt my chances of polishing, then could I sandblast, then paint these?

Thanks.

When I was a detailer we never sandblasted any wheels, we had all kinds come thru the shop..... The best ones I have used at home are Maguires, Mothers, and Eagle 1.... these companies have aluminum, magnesium, etc. polishs, waxes, and cleaners... i have a chemical i use at home now, but as far as i know its only retail to dealers... its made by brite-rite.
I can give ya tips on how to clean but as far as a chemical... stick to what parts stores got on their detail isles....

*NOTE THIS POST TO REMAIN FOR 24 HOURS PLEASE. THEN I WILL MOVE TO DETAILING SUBJECT LINE* thanx ~*A*~
if you get a polish to try and get the wheels to sparkle a lil better, make sure they are really clean, using your brand of cleaner you choose. allow them to dry. They should be warm but not hot when you use the polish... First, at most auto parts stores, you can buy a brush that is similar to a wire wheel (the flat kind that you put in a drill) but it is soft nylon bristles, (like a fingernail brush) DO NOT USE METAL. hit the wheels a good time with this brush then try one of the polishes.. some of the better ones come in a can about the size of two hockey pucks stacked together (im from florida, thats the best i could do) put the partially gritty polish in a small area of the wheel and hit it with the brush, dont do to hard, fast, or stay in one area, you wont ruin the wheel, you just want to get a nice even polish, then depending on which you use, you can either wipe or wash away the polish... you may see swirl marks but you should just be able to wipe them away with a terrycloth rag. provided you didnt go to hard/deep. Then when thats all nice an clean, you will want you wheels cold for this (shade cold, not ice) then you take a nice wheel wax that comes just like a car wax, the paste that you wipe on, not pour. (preferably the same brand for best results) then apply let sit, wipe and redo working one coat, next wheel one coat, wipe first wheel, wipe second wheel. you should have sparkly wheels for a good while, the most brake or road dust you can wash off with lil pressure, best to use de-ionized water for that... whew... hope this helps.
