Default Painting a urethane bumper - Suggestions?

I am sanding the cracking and peeling paint off of GT urethane bumper. It is from a 2007 Mustang. I want to prime it, use a base coat, and several clear coats using 2K urethane or possibly epoxy paint. I have been told that flex agent shouldn't be needed using the new material.
What should I do following sanding the bumper?
Do I need adhesion promoter like "bulldog" before or instead of primer?
Should I use a regular high pressure spray gun or the new HVLP guns? I understand that the HVLP guns cause less overspray but what about the result? Is there a different technique if I use the HVLP gun?

Hey hank
Painting your bumper yourself is not hard, though it is costly.
you probablly might have some luck if you stop into a dealership in your area and see if they use a bumper guy and "dent doctor"...these people have trucks equipped with the full PPG paint line-up, and will sand, touch-up and re-spray your bumper while you wait....
why do u think all the used cars in the lot have great bumpers
and they dont usually charge more than $200 a side....

If you are going to do it yourself...you need flex additives for the bumpers and you should go with a polyurethane paint

The HVLP gun will give a slightly better result, and will save you money on paint.

I havent sprayed in a while but usually i think its 2 coats of primer, sanding in between coats, and then 3 coats of base with 15-20 min wait time in between for adhesion reasons...and then 2 coats of clear...wherever you purchace the paint will let you know what thy reccomend

Good luck
