Default Meguiar's NXT wax paste

Just got a can in the mail (ordered it online).... I opened it up this morning, and noticed it wasn't sealed very tightly. The wax is hard, even has a crack running along the inside curve. When I put my finger into it, I comes off -- but it's certainly not "wet". I dunno, wonder if it dried up. In the old days, I used to put wax on a wet sponge.

I can't say about the Meguiar's, but with the Mothers I use it should soften if you rub it with your finger. Cracking is also normal.

Spray your applicator with a little detailer, and wipe it across the surface of the wax and go to town.

If you have any qualms, Meguiar's has a tech support website and phone numbers.

But based on my experience with waxes, I would have no problem using that -- I'm confident it's normal.

Your were right. The paste waxes crack, and harden a bit on the surface, but underneath is nice and moist.

Glad to help.

Of course pre-softened pastes are a whole different beast, but I'm pretty sure all cake or traditional paste waxes act like the one you have.

I like the cake waxes as I find it easier to apply a thin, even coat partly because you can get more wax evenly distributed over the pad or towel, though I usually use my PowerBall 4Paint.
