Default 2010 Mustang GT Paint Question

On a Brand new from the facotry car. I will be getting mine around the 21st of Oct. Do they come with Wax on it, i know clear coat, but i will be putting decals on it.

Every where i read they say use "VM&P Naphtha" on it to remove and built up WAX. But if its new is there built up wax on it?

I am scared enough of screwing up my car, but i am sure someone has put new "decals" on their new paint

Thanks
John Campbell

Dawn dishwashing soap should take any wax off of it. Ask the dealer not to wax it.
I would also claybar the entire car, it gets any dust or bugs off the paint and makes it much smoother. You can get the claybar at about any automotive store.

Pete has a point. While the manufacturer may not put anything on the car, the dealership prep might just contaminate it. Washing the car with Dawn diswashing soap should remove the wax if there is any. However, using Naptha won't harm the paint and will assure the decals stick properly. Keep in mind, even something as simple as running your hand along the car will leave oil residue which can affect adhesion. It's simple insurance if you ask me.

OK, so I've added a few things to it. Check my Profile - too many to list here.

Naptha is fine or you can get prepsol. It goes by many names & Ive bought it at Walmart before in the automotive section. It is wax & grease remover to prep for paint jobs. Get disposable rubber gloves like doctors use (Walmart) & these will keep your skin oil off the clean paint.
