i got bird &%$# on my vinyl stripes!!

i have bird poop on my vinyl stripes and i took it off carefully but now there is like a residue that wont go away i tried wax and rubbing compound but it did nothing!! they are 3m vinyl with gloss. Thx

Sometimes that stuff etches itself into paint and in this case stripes. Keep us posted if it comes out. I hope it does. I got some of that bird crap on my wifes Expedition and it had left a little spot. It may all depend on how long it sits on your car for.

Maybe you can swing by a local detailers see if they can help you out??

Jim, my Mustang has a huge poop spot that happened while it sat on the lot, I am sure.... You can only see it in certain sun...

lol my cousin went into the science of that fact that bird poop contains certain i guess they were acids

or somethin that cause the poop damage the clear coat. We were only talking about it because while at the supermarket his car had been hit twice and after perfusely cursing he went into the store and purchased some paper towels and car wash soap and cleaned it off right there lol. I thought he was being insane but hey to each their own. I'm sure if u take it to a detailer therell be a remedy... good luck.

thanks guys i had cleaned it off the second i saw it so it was probably like 2 hrs max but it had already done the damage you cant see it all the time but if your a freak like me you see it. ill just see what happens after i wash it and ill keep waxing and buffin it your right though i am trying to be nice to it and not scrub too hard

thos magic erasers would wonders. just make sure to wet it, maybe with some wax.

you shhhhhould see the cars that come in to the wash with "bird" on them LMAO. they woners of the car must hate me cuz i just laugh till their car is out of my sight. when a car comes in and looks like they just came from a rifle range with there car as the target i cant help it.
