Your tailpipes actually look like they're sagging too low. I guess a factory/aftermarket cat-back system WILL WORK. But it won't look right. I'll need to pay the muffler shop a visit. It's either turn-downs or tucked up tailpipes.

mine's a gt. yeah, those tailpipes do look like they're sagging a little but I dont pay attention, that car looks freaking tight. It looks exactly like my car pretty much, minus the rims and clear corners ;\ pretty much any custom tips wont look that bad.. i'm sure itll look way better overall either way :P
I'm pretty sure you can custom fab some. Just take some 3" angle cut tips and shorten the end up and there you go.
Saleen kit.....can't wait till I get enough cash to have it put on mine, than and a s-351 composite hood and still haven't decieded on the wing, side scoops, and the Saleen side stripes......
i never thought my tailpipes looked like they were sagging...i think it looks sweet...if i angled the pipes up up about an inch they would be touching the bumper. but thanx for the compliments on my ride

yeah man, you cant even really tell, i think it looks awesome honestly. right now there is so much stuff i want to do to mine but im a little short on cash ill have to get a pic of mine up on here
Heh, actually, on my S-281 the tips are custom...kinda. Here is how to build them to look like the real deal.
First of all, you will need to have some pics of the pipes (close up) to use as reference.
The tips are actually 2.5"-3" expansion Borla intercooled style round slash cut. Between the tips and the muffs lies a black baffle. This is where the custom part comes in to play. It is simply a perferated mesh screen wrapped around the pipes.
Now for the part where I become the bad guy. The tips alone cost $89.00. Oh, and did I fail to mention another $89.00 for the other side too??? Sucks I know but it beats &700 for the Saleen cat back system AND you can use your Dynomax. Saleen uses Borla mufflers with a Borla dual high flow converter X pipe, so the sounds will be similar.
Good luck!

Well the body shop my car is in did something to make the pipes work. They heated them and shaped them in place. I was shocked when they showed me! I can't wait to get my car back, should be this Friday.
Also, DO NOT BUY FROM SALEEN! They have been a nightmare. First, they hit me with $275 in freight charges for the body kit + spoiler. Second, they sent me the wrong spoiler! Third, they sent me an unfinished body kit, there are pits and cracks that requires hundreds of $$$ to fix because I do not have the time to wait for a replacement kit. I'm sending the claim to Saleen as soon as I get an estimate on repair costs, but I doubt I will receive reimbursement without a fight. I regret purchasing from Saleen. I should have heeded the warning on these very forums. But I ignored them. I wanted that Saleen kit so much it blinded me. I should have bought the Cervini's kit to go with my hood.
Hey CS, how was your dealings with Saleen? I see you have a chip of theirs.

You can also buy new tips and lay out a patern and drill out the gun barel design yourself. i did it years ago with chrome plated tips just to see how it would look. I also sprayed the area black like the saleen. It came out perfect. Now that I have a magna flow exhaust I plan on buying a second set of tips and doing it again since there tips are stainless steel they won't peel.

Blargh! I have had so much $&%* with Saleen that it is not even funny. First of all, they think that they are doing you a favor when you buy something from them. I had to replace my valance after I sucked up a pylon doing some SCCA racing and when the valance arrived it had tiny pinholes in it. I called Saleen and after I got through all of the the additude they asked me what was wrong with the valance. I told them and they asked me if I had any dime sized holes in it or equal sized bubbles. I told them no and that it just has thousands of pinholes in it. Then they actually said that I got "one of the good ones". ($500.00 +shipping for a valance and I got a GOOD ONE???) To make a long story short, they told me that I can send back the urethane valance (at my shipping cost) and they will send me another one. All I would have to pay them is another $150.00 for shipping the new unit! Let's just say that I am not impressed with Saleen. Team Shinoda is a different story though. Parts are top notch! I have learned my lesson. By the way, if you are thinking about a new body kit (Saleen) then check this out. www.wickedbodykits.com Exact Saleen replica (only fiberglass instead of urethane) for $399.00! Shipping is around $150.00-199.00.
By the way, all of Saleen's stuff is third party. Well, all accept the urethane. Here's a list of a few things.
Powerflash chip- Ford chip reburnt by Saleen's 3rd party tuner
Shocks and struts- Bilstien's with a Racecraft sticker
Hoods- Kaenan
Springs- Eibach painted red (I think)
Exhaust- Borla
Series superchargers- Eaton
Extreme car's supercharger- Canton
Filter- K&N
Seat upgrades- Recarro
Shifters- Hurst
Caster Camber plates- Hotchkis
to name a few.
Check this out next time you want to see what it's all about. Log onto Saleen.com and look at the caster camber plates. Then look at www.TeamShinoda.com and look at the Hotchkis ones. Then compare the shocks and struts with the Bilstiens on TeamShinoda's site. Look familiar? Good luck with the ride, man! Keep me posted.
By the way, feel free to PM me any time with any questions.

Update! The Saleen kit curled up when it was heated. Body shop needs another day. They told me they only heated them at 120 instead of the normal 160 but I think what caused them to curl up is a longer period of heating than they should have. Oh well. I'm going to be upset if I can't have my car in time for the final test and tune of the season at Gateway!
