Well, the way my 67's headliner was put in was with the bows at the top. I'm guessing if you can get them to roll down or twist down you might be able to pull them off by pushing them in.
Go to a fabric store and get some heavy duty velcro. You'll most probably get some stange looks for being the only guy in there. Also get some silicone glue.
Glue one part of velcro to the metal roof and other part to cardboard or plastic hedliner. Let dry and push back into place.
