Default Small Holes in Vert Top

I have 2 small holes/abrasions in my convertible top, is there anything I can do to repair them or keep them from getting worse than they already are?

I know a friend of mine used one of those upholestry patch kits...it didn't look very pretty, but it was better than having holes and it was $5 vs. the cost of replacing the top.

My white top is starting to form a small tear, so I am going to use (as suggested by an upholstry shop) a small amount of pure white silicone to hold the fabric together. I will let you kknow how it turns out. But, I do not think anything would totally make it all disappear.
