Default Power window issues

I have a 99 stang and the window glass on the driver side is sliding up and down in the bracket. Ford says that I have to replace the whole unit and it cannot be glued. However, when I took the door panel off the glass is being held in the bracket by some type of clear silicone. So which one is it? Can I just go to the auto parts store and buy some type of Glue/Adhesive/RTV?

it is a certain silicone/urethane....like used to install windshields.

I just went up and tried some epoxy from Discount Auto Parts. NO LUCK. Looks like I'm heading to the junkyard to find a new window.
