Cool

there are also alot of books out there that explain every detail about painting interiors. check out your local bookstore like borders and barnes and noble or best of all check out some of the tech articles and/or posts from AFM. a few hours of review and research will give you the best knowledge. Good luck with your project.

Ill have to take some pics of my interior, and show the world of AFM what i did to it, cause im pretty proud of it. lol..
I took a stock 88LX interior that was all beige on black, with grey seats...
and turned it all black with some blue trim (speaker panels in dash, temp control knobs, etc) and i think it looks 384730384 times better.

All i did was LIGHTLY sand everything down, it really helps if you remove everything from the inside first, lol, but that is kinda obvious, but you never know.
But ya.. lightly sand everything down, then make sure its clean. I just used dishsoap, and it worked fine. Not sure if you're supposed to or not...
Let it dry, and then i just used plastic and vinyl paint which was applied via an aresol can. Worked wonders...
As for the carpet, it was beige too... its now black thanks to some dye i picked up, ALSO in a can. lol...
It took about 4 days to do, working about 4 hours a day.. but thats only cause i had no previous experience with stangs. It was great fun though..
But definately read up all you can, but i know it can be done, cause i did it.
Good luck!

If you are not that sure of what to do. Find something to test paint/stain first. I would not want to paint parts from the car if I dont quite know how it will come out. It does not have to be on the stang. For sanding, if it has a flat surface, 150 grit then 300 grit will work. If it has texture and you want to keep the texture, I would NOT sand. I would just clean it good. look at the 2 pictures of mine at cardomain.com. I used the sherman williams paint from the exterior with clear coat to paint some of my interior. I did not stain it.

you can look on www.50resto.com, they have the interior die used on mustangs. i am about to order some for where adhesive remover eat away the finish on my dash. I hear that it works really good.

The site also has the primer, sealer, and cleaner. The good thing is it is factory colored so you do not have to do it all, unless the rest of it faded bad. It is also only like 9.95 a can.
