Default detailing

I have a 97 mustang and I have a lot of little marks on my car. They aren't very noicable but I don't like them. I'm a college student and can't afford a paint job. I would wondering if "DETAILING" is where they cover up the marks. I'm not even sure if you can fix marks on a car without a new paint job. Please let me know what I can do.

Default Little Marks??

You didn't really say if they were actually scratches? You might want to try using a clay bar to go over all the paint; takes some time but is easier than waxing. Process goes like this: you use a spray bottle w/water and few drops of car-washing soap, spray an area and then move the clay bar over the area in horizontal passes, keeping the area wet. The clay picks up all sorts of grunge from the paint including scuff marks. Don't drop the clay bar on the ground! and then keep using it - the grit it picks up acts like sandpaper. Doing this did a nice job of getting all sorts of little marks out of my metallic red 96. Look at http://www.zainostore.com/ - the zaino site has detailed instructions, FAQs, tips & tricks, and a very cool photo gallery of customers's cars.

If what you have are scratches or missing paint from little rocks you can try detailing with a small paintbrush, then sanding the excess paint with wet sandpaper. (400 grit to remove the excess, then 1000-1500 to make it smooth).

Then you will need to polish and wax.

If your paint is clearcoat, try mixing the clear and base coat 50/50.
