You didn't really say if they were actually scratches? You might want to try using a clay bar to go over all the paint; takes some time but is easier than waxing. Process goes like this: you use a spray bottle w/water and few drops of car-washing soap, spray an area and then move the clay bar over the area in horizontal passes, keeping the area wet. The clay picks up all sorts of grunge from the paint including scuff marks. Don't drop the clay bar on the ground! and then keep using it - the grit it picks up acts like sandpaper. Doing this did a nice job of getting all sorts of little marks out of my metallic red 96. Look at
