I have (God forgive me) scratched my rear bumper fairly deep. It is black. I don't think I can buff it out. Any tips on filling it in with touch-up paint. I could use any advice. It was perfect till now.

Retouch with a brush, let it dry for a day, then wet sand it down, use 300 grit, then go up to 1,500 grit, and polish. wont be perfect but its better than leaving the scratch.

The right way would be to sand the scratch until you get an even surface, then paint, clearcoat, wet sand and polish. In case it went too deep you might need to add a light coat of primer.
