try spraying a small piece (that you wont see) with oven cleaner....yes,oven cleaner. this takes paint off of most types of plastic without ruining the surface. have you tried paint thinner?

when i did my vents and wanted them off i just soaked them in laquor thinner over night, it worked great, but only do it for so long and check it, mine started to be brittle
