Default protectant or no protectant

I know that this came into an earlier thread on this forum before, but I was left kind of confused. Here's what I got from the original convo.

1. Some people prefer Armor All every time.
2. Some prefer a damp rag and Armor All just once a year.
3. Some prefer just the damp rag.

I'm SCARED TO DEATH of f'ing up my leather seats and dash. I've wiped the dash down before with a wet rag, and I've also used Armor All wipes...

Is there an alternative for the Armor All that won't end up in cracking down the road????

I'm not too worried about it. I've used the usual aftermarket cleaners and conditioners with no noticeable decay on all my vehicles. Maybe if you did all the surfaces except one over a period of 10 years, you might see a difference.

Armor All is crap, you can get far superior products that last and really protect your interior..never go "cheap".

"AA" will damage rubber parts and crack ther leather and last like 2 days.

For leather i recommend either Mothers or Meguiars products, both work well. You need to first CLEAN the leather and then apply a conditioner.

Same goes for all the plastic and vinyl parts, Mothers or Meguiars.
There are other good brands around, but the above are easy to find and not too expensive.
