Default Need help removing ground effect.....

Having rubbed up against the curb, I scuffed the right side ground effect on my '97 GT and want to have it repainted. I figured I could just remove it and take it to a body shop for repair. Anyway, I removed one Philips screw on the back end and 8 plastic grommets all along the underside of it. I thought it would just come off at this point. It's like a loose tooth. However, I can't figure out how to remove. It seems as though it is hooked into the frame somehow. Or maybe it's held in place by 2-way tape. No matter what I try, I can't seem to remove it. Does NE1 have experience with removal of this part? If so, can you help me out here and give me some advice?

Thanx,
Trayser

In the inside there are several clips that you will need to break to loosen it, and you will need replacements

www.50resto.com has replacement clips

I believe I removed these 8 plastic clips. I think you are referrring to the plastic treaded large head pins about an inch long. I will have to replace these, I know. But it still won't come off. Thanks anyway.
