Hey all,
I was wondering if anyone knew the proper way to install hair pin style hood pins. I recently acquired the hood pins for my 1968 mustang and was wondering where on the hood they are usually mounted. Like how far in from the side people have measured for mounting the hardware.

On my 79 , I used the location of the hood stops in front .
I put the pins there .
I put double sided tape on the pins .
I shut the hood .
The tape should stick to the inside of the hood .
Thats were to drill .

I got mine fairly even .

Thanks for the help guys, I am hopefully going to be giving the task a shot here in the next week or two. How far did you put the holes of the post above the hood?

You can also use lipstick on the pins, or use a pool cue chalk.
