Rear bumper lighting mod.

I know most of the posts here are for performance, but I have a question about a mod I saw on a stang recently. From what I can tell, he had cut the mustang word out of the rear bumper and placed a light behind it. Probably put some type of protective see-through mesh to cover up the holes. My question is, how can I go about doing this. Has anyone successfully cut out anything from a late model body? If so, what's the best way to go about it. I think I can get the lighting system rigged up no problem using LED's.

I have not seen any aftermarket items for doing this but I don't think it would be real hard to do. Not sure if you can get enough high intensity LEDs to really light it up though. I'd check with your local custom stereo shop and see if they have some neon stick lightning. Then I'd fashion a sealed container for it to mount inside the rear facia after removing the lettering. The biggest problem I see is making it water proof and making it stick to the rear facia. This is a cool idea.. Anyone got any ideas here on how to fasion a sealed container and make it stay inplace? I'd also like to hear everyones opinion on what they would use to difuse the light to make it even.

That is kind of a cool idea. But I would not want to do that. I saw today the guy next to me at the car show I was at, he had neons in his little hood vents. They were pretty cool. He had a 96 GT. kind of a cool idea.
