Question 2001 Mustang (How do I replace the passenger side mirror)

I have a 2001 Mustang Convertible. I need to replace the passenger side mirror but I can't figure out how to get access to the backside of the mirror housing. It looks as if it is behind the speaker on the door but I dont see any access points to remove the speaker to see behind it to the mirror. I have to replace the whole housing not just the mirror. Any ideas?

I think all you need to do is pull the speaker grill off, just pull straight back. Take the speaker out and then remove the mirror retaining bolts. Then disconnect the electrical connector from the mirror and that should be it.

This speaker is above the door next to the window. I can't pull too hard b/c it will tear out the housing. Any other thoughts

Removing the speaker grill & speaker is what you need to do to access the retaining bolts to remove the mirror. Just be careful I guess. That is my only thought.

You can just pull the mirror off, All that holds it are two plastic strips with gear edges on them.

I pulled out the window switch pod and got to all the wires without removing the inside door panel. Jeff
