Default Chrome or polished aluminum?!?!??!

How do i identify whether or not my rims are chrome or polished aluminum......it came with the 01 cobra that i recently bought.... its a lil dirty and a lil dull in some spots.. i bought the Mothers metal polish but am hesitant to use since it warns against the use of the product on chrome surfaces.......so is there a way to determine whether or not these rims are Aluminum or Chrome?!?!?!

Default rims

Yea if the magnet sticks to the wheel, then it's a steel type, but if the magent doesn't stick, then it is aluminum.... i recamend for cleaning crome rims, use eagle 1.... works the best i think, you can get at any walmart.

the hood on my car has a ridiculous amount of scratches and swirls... bought the buffer to help try to hide it, now i need u guys to refer me to good products to go along with this buffer?? any suggestions?!?!
