Need advice on tailight lense removal?

Need advice on tailight lense removal. What is the best way to remove them?? What is the position of the clips that hold them in? Weather-stripping placement? Is it easier to remove the whole taillight assembly or remove the lenses with the assemblies on the vehicle??

there are 6 of 8 studs/nuts on the inside holding the entire unit in, or you czn take a hair dryer, heat them up, and pull the lens right off. They are held on by butal (sp) tape
